This film is definitely not a remake of 1986 romantic drama with identical title; neither was it mentioned Scissor Sisters should play a song with the same name. The point is that Josh Duhamel, Bruce Willis and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson are anticipated to topline a brand new Fire with Fire indie drama – both Emmett/Furla and Cheetah Vision are set to produce.
TV series director David Barrett is directing it from a script written by Tom Conner.
Fire with Fire storyline follows a fireman in the witness protection program. When he's threatened by the man he plans to testify against, he takes care of the problem himself to save the love of his life.
Voltage Films will be selling the rights to the film at Cannes next week with Lionsgate that will release the films domestically.
As you may recall, Lionsgate revealed 10-picture deal last fall — Fire with Fire is a part of that. Other recent movies under the deal include action heist Setup with the same Curtis Jackson and Bruce Willis along Ryan Phillippe; police drama Freelancers and gambling drama Lay the Favorite with Rebecca Hall and Willis attached.
Duhamel, who is not so involved in 10-picture program, will next star opposite Samuel L. Jackson in the Boaz Yakin's thriller film Sympathy for the Devil.
Willis is omnipotent and he will topline the movie adaptation of the video game Kane & Lynch: Dead Men as well as to star in the forthcoming slew of movies: Catch 44, The Cold Light of Day, Moonrise Kingdom, and Looper (plus probably Die Hard 5 and the next Expendables).
As for Cheetah Vision's co-owner, he'll next be seen in a Blood Out, upcoming 2011 drama thriller film to be released direct-to-video.
Production on Fire with Fire is expected to begin June 27.
