Meet our new Shredder!
William Fichtner has just confirmed that he will (once again) play a bad guy, this time – in
Jonathan Liebesman‘s upcoming
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie! Is anyone actually surprised? Guess not, after all, the
iconic stature rumor from May was enough to make us wonder…
But things are pretty clear now. And this news comes straight from Fichtner, who, in an interview with
HuffPost TV Canada, revealed:
I play Shredder. It is cool. It's one of those things that came along where I thought, “Really? Let me think about this for a minute.” Then I was like, “Yeah, OK, this sounds like a journey.” I'm very glad that it worked out, I'm really glad that I'm doing it.
So, Fichtner will join the cast which already includes
Megan Fox as April O'Neil,
Alan Ritchson as Raphael,
Jeremy Howard as Donatello,
Pete Ploszek as Leonardo,
Noel Fisher as Michelangelo,
Will Arnett as Vernon Fenwick, and
Danny Woodburn as Master Splinter.
Let us once again remind you that the project would mark the fifth big screen outing for the sewer-dwelling heroes Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael as well as their master Splinter, based on the characters created by Laird and Kevin Eastman.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is produced by
Nickelodeon Movies and
Michael Bay‘s production company
Platinum Dunes, and in case you forgot – it's already set to hit theaters on June 6th, 2014.
