This could be interesting. We've just learned that
Will Gluck (we all know who he is, or do we have to add that he stands behind projects like
Easy A and
Friends with Benefits?) is set to direct a spec script titled
Agatha for Paramount Pictures! And yes, this project will center on
Agatha Christie (that's the
interesting-part of the story.)
Agatha project comes from
Mean Girls 2 scribe
Allison Schroeder and is described as an action adventure which surmises what really happened to Agatha Christie during the eleven days she went missing in 1926.
And, although plot details are still being kept under wraps, folks from
Deadline say that the movie is tonally described as
a female Sherlock Holmes meets Romancing The Stone. Not sure if I actually like this description, but I'm definitely interested in more updates!
Anyway, let us also add that Gluck should start his work on
Agatha after his next project – Sony's 2014 remake of the Broadway musical
Annie and that Chris Bender, Cale Boyter, Mary Parent, JC Spink and Jake Weiner are attached to produce the whole thing.
Stay tuned for more!
