Well, in case you liked our previous reports about
Wes Anderson‘s
Moonrise Kingdom movie, then I'm sure you're going to love this little update as well.
As you know, the movie is standing quite well at the box office these days, but Anderson already has a new surprise for us!
He actually revealed that he's prepared a special animated short film designed to serve as a companion piece to Moonrise Kingdom and that one will premiere online this week!
In an interview with ComingSoon, Anderson said:
“The character of Suzy has a suitcase full of these young adult fantasy type novels…Sort of sci-fi/fantasy books. We had to invent them and give a little glimpse of each one. Different artists, most of whom very close to the filmmakers, were doing these. In fact, we have now animated them, each little passage, each in the style of the cover of the book. We've made a little short film that's hosted by Bob Balaban, the narrator in our movie. That will come out next week on the internet. It'll be a little companion piece to the movie.”
Ok, this is not actually some huge surprise. I'm sure you all remember Anderson did the same thing with
The Darjeeling Limited back in 2007, when we also had a chance to see his action short online.
Titled
Hotel Chevalier, that one starred Jason Schwartzman and Natalie Portman as their Darjeeling characters.
Anyone excited about this one, or what?
