Here comes the first trailer for the upcoming horror thriller
We Are What We Are, which is set to hit theaters next month. We already had a little
chat about this movie (it premiered at this year's Cannes Film Festival, remember?) so I'm sure you're all familiar with
Jim Mickle‘s weird (read: spooky) little family. Head inside to meet the Parkers. They would like to have you for a dinner.
Literally!

Just in case you forgot,
We Are What We Are is an English-language version of
Jorge Michel Grau‘s horror film of the same name, which revolves around a family who must learn to survive after the death of their father by hunting and putting meat on the table.

Wait! Not so fast – we're actually talking about a seemingly wholesome and benevolent family of…
cannibals!
Here's what it looks like:
Mickle directed the whole thing from a script he co-wrote with
Nick Damici, and for those of you who may have missed the official synopsis:
Behind closed doors, patriarch Frank rules his family with a rigorous ferver, determined to keep his ancestral customs intact at any cost. As a torrential rainstorm moves into the area, tragedy strikes and his daughters Iris and Rose are forced to assume responsibilities that extend beyond those of a typical family. As the unrelenting downpour continues to flood their small town, the local authorities begin to uncover clues that bring them closer to the secret that the Parkers have held closely for so many years.

Starring
Bill Sage,
Ambyr Childers,

Nick Damici,

We Are What We Are is (finally) set to hit theaters on September 27th, 2013.
So,
any thoughts?
