After
The Oranges poster and production still, ATO Pictures has debuted a trailer for
Julian Farino‘s (Entourage) upcoming family comedy drama.
The Oranges screened at last year's Toronto International Film Festival and hasn't made many waves. The R-rated indie comedy stars a strong cast of award-winning actors including
Hugh Laurie, Catherine Keener, Oliver Platt and
Leighton Meester.
Allison Janney, Adam Brody and
Alia Shawkat co-star in this quirky film, written by
Ian Helfer and
Jay Reiss.
Two suburban New Jersey families, the Ostroffs, led by Cathy (Janney) and Terry (Platt) and the Wallings, headed by David (Laurie) and (Paige) Keener have been best friends for years, sharing celebrations and supporting each other, but their tight relationship is twisted when it's discovered that the father of one family (Laurie) is having an affair with the grown daughter of the other family (Meester). Things become clumsier as they fall deeper in love, which also affects Terry's daughter Vanessa (Shawkat), Nina's childhood friend.
The Oranges will open in limited theaters starting October 5th this fall — expect it to be booked at larger art-house theaters like E Street Cinema and Bethesda Row.
