In Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism and Sikkhism this world of ceaseless flow and change is known as samsara, but
Mark Magidson and
Ron Fricke’s publicity department, has now offered a slightly modified definition.
Samsara is a nonverbal, guided meditation that will transform viewers around the world as they are swept along on a journey of the soul.
And moreover:
Through powerful images pristinely photographed in 70mm and a dynamic music score, the film illuminates the links between humanity and the rest of the nature, showing how our life cycle mirrors the rhythm of the planet.
A non-verbal film called
Samsara is Magidson and Fricke’s 2011 follow-up to the celebrated feature length Baraka; the film uses very high quality images, scenes of nature and mankind to stimulate the viewer and contains no plot or actors, although there are several performers in the film.
Samsara, with the imagery that would make Terrence Malick turn his head, will get a limited theatrical release starting on August 24th.
Let the beauty speak for itself.
