Viola Davis, a talented stage and film actress best known for her Oscar-winning role in the film
Doubt, is in talks to play the female lead in
Michael Mann‘s cyber crime thriller tentatively titled
Cyber.
Chris Hemsworth is
already attached to star in the thriller, which is set to begin shooting in China next month, although nothing is yet known about the characters either actor play.
The project will be also set in China, with Chinese actors cast to play leading roles.
It will be interesting to see how it works during a time when U.S. and China have played the blame game accusing each other of cyber crime in real life.
Mann had been developing the project for over a year, co-writing the script with
Morgan Davis Foehl (Mass Effect). Sadly, the plot details are still being kept under wraps.
Davis is now booked to star in two upcoming high-profile movies, including supporting roles in
Gavin Hood's
Ender's Game and
Richard LaGravenese's
Beautiful Creatures. 2013 should be a good, exciting year for Davis, generally speaking.
Stay tuned.
