Filmmaker
Woody Allen is at the centre of a language row in Spain over his new film ‘
Vicky Cristina Barcelona‘.
Officials in Spain are unhappy because Allen's latest film will be screened in the country in English, despite two of the lead actors,
Penelope Cruz and
Javier Bardem, being Spanish.
The film will be shown in Spain with subtitles, which has angered locals in Barcelona as 10% of the film's budget has come from their city hall and Catalan taxpayers.
Vicky Cristina Barcelona will reportedly feature an “extremely erotic” love scene between stars
Scarlett Johansson and Penelope Cruz.
