Asghar Farhadi‘s follow-up to his multi award-winning film A Separation is titled
The Past (Le Passe) and looks like another compelling drama in a brand new international trailer.
The international trailer and the first poster arrived about two weeks before the lineup for the 2013 Cannes Film Festival has been announced. The trailer isn't subtitled unfortunately, so you're only going to be getting a vibe for the feature unless you speak French.
This film – led by The Artist star
Bérénice Bejo, A Prophet lead
Tahar Rahim and
Ali Mosaffa – tells the story of an Iranian man (Mosaffa) who leaves his French wife (Bejo) and children to return to his country. His wife writes to him and asks for a divorce which compels the man to come back to France, only to see her new partner, a French man (Rahim) in his home beside his children.
The lead female role was originally offered to Marion Cotillard.
No word yet on when it will hit the States.
