The first trailer for the sequel to the franchise starter Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief has been released.
Despite receiving a lukewarm critical response, the $220 million worldwide haul for the original was enough to convince Fox that this was a franchise worth continuing. Hopefully, the sequel will have a more cohesive storyline, better dialogue and not just big action.
The follow-up shows Logan Lerman as the title hero and his Greek myth-based pals on a quest for the Golden Fleece.
Opening in theaters on August 7th, 2013, Sea of Monsters also features Brandon T. Jackson, Alexandra Daddario, Douglas Smith, Mary Birdsong, Yvette Nicole Brown, Missi Pyle, Nathan Fillion, Anthony Head, Paloma Kwiatkowski, Leven Rambin, Stanley Tucci, Robert Maillet and Zoe Aggeliki.
The flick is directed by Thor Freudenthal with a script from Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski.
