Actually,
Tom Hiddleston is set to replace previously attached
Benedict Cumberbatch in the gothic thriller
Crimson Peak. So far,
Guillermo del Toro‘s upcoming film stars
Jessica Chastain,
Mia Wasikowska and
Charlie Hunnam, so we have nothing to worry about – our Loki is in a pretty cool company, indeed!
For those unfamiliar with the project, let us first inform you that del Toro,
Matthew Robbins and
Lucinda Coxon stand behind the script, and that the movie will be a very set-oriented, classical but at the same time modern take on the ghost story.
In other words,
Crimson Peak will tell us a tale of a woman who discovers that her new husband is not who he claims to be.
And that's unfortunately all we know about the project at this moment.
Still, the good thing is that the film is set to begin shooting in January 2014, so I guess we'll pretty soon have more updates to share.
Let us also add that Legendary will produce and be a participating financing partner on the movie with Universal Pictures retaining an option to also finance at a later date.
As for Hiddleston fans out there, little reminder – he will next be seen in
Alan Taylor's upcoming
Thor: The Dark World, and then in
Jim Jarmusch‘s drama
Only Lovers Left Alive.
Busy guy!
