You already know that
Jason Bateman is set to star in an upcoming big screen adaptation of
Jonathan Tropper‘s novel
This Is Where I Leave You, right? Ok then, check this out:
Tina Fey is all of the sudden in some serious negotiations to star in the whole thing as well, and she will reportedly come on board to play Bateman's sister. More details in the rest of this report…
Shawn Levy is set to direct this comedy drama from Tropper's own script which centers on a man whose father dies and tasks his dysfunctional family comprised of four grown siblings with one last request: to spend seven days following the funeral together under the same roof for first time in a decade.
As you already know, Bateman is on board to play that guy, while, according to
THR, Fey should jump in to play Bateman's older sister, character described as a woman who is married and whose first love now has brain damage.
In addition to Fey,
Ari Graynor,
Isla Fisher,
Zoe Saldana and
Mary Elizabeth Winstead are all in negotiations for the part of Bateman's romantic lead (no decision has been made), while
Kathryn Hahn should come on board to play Bateman's sister-in-law.
Levy will produce the whole thing along with Paula Weinstein, and production should start in June in New York.
Stay tuned for more updates on this one!
