Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter helmer, Timur Bekmambetov is now attached to direct project titled The Current War, a 2011 Black List script written by Michael Mitnick.
It's not exactly something that I'm curious about, but the good thing is that we're not going to talk about a real war. It's more like a public battle between two inventors.
So, Mitnick's script is based on the true story of the public battle fought between pioneers Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse to develop electricity and bring it to the masses while also making sure their system is the one that is adopted.
Sounds a little bit boring (for me at least), but I guess that the good part of this project would be a possible cast.
Unfortunately, still nothing about that, but I will remind you that at one point Sacha Baron Cohen was interested in playing Edison.
Bekmambetov's Bezelevs production banner will finance the development through its independent fund, while Steve Zaillian and Garrett Basch will executive produce through Zaillian's Film Rites.

This one could be awesome! I’ve long wanted to see a film about Edison’s war with the great Nicola Tesla and Timur Bekmambetov is a great director. I can’t wait!
