You see, this is what we call a pretty good cast! We've just learned that
Corey Stoll and
Jane Fonda are in some serious talks to join the upcoming
This Is Where I Leave You movie, which already stars
Tina Fey and
Jason Bateman. And yes,
we are talking about
Shawn Levy‘s adaptation of
Jonathan Tropper‘s novel of the same name which revolves around a dysfunctional and idiosyncratic family…
Levy is directing the movie from a script written by Tropper, which follows a dysfunctional and idiosyncratic family in which the father's death forces four grown siblings to spend a week together in the house where they grew up for the first time in a decade.
Or, if you prefer the official description of Tropper's novel:
The death of Judd Foxman's father marks the first time that the entire Foxman clan has congregated in years. There is, however, one conspicuous absence: Judd's wife, Jen, whose affair with his radio- shock-jock boss has recently become painfully public. Simultaneously mourning the demise of his father and his marriage, Judd joins his dysfunctional family as they reluctantly sit shiva-and spend seven days and nights under the same roof. The week quickly spins out of control as longstanding grudges resurface, secrets are revealed and old passions are reawakened. Then Jen delivers the clincher: she's pregnant…
Jason Bateman,
Tina Fey and
Corey Stoll are set to play three of the four Foxman children in the film, and according to
Deadline,
Jane Fonda is in talks to play the newly widowed Hillary Foxman aka the matriarch of the family.
Definitely sounds interesting, hope you agree!
Stay tuned for more details, the movie starts shooting this spring in New York, so I guess we'll soon have more updates to share!
