Dawn of the next teaser trailer lies ahead of actor
Hugh Jackman and director
James Mangold live chat in an online Q&A session, followed by an unveiling of a new teaser poster, so it's
Wolverine time!
Since the most of the movie is actually set in Japan (unlike the other X-Men movies) it's not strange why they implement this very special aspect into the promotional materials in classic Japanese brushed ink style.
The one-sheet, however, does not feature the film's title or any other tagline aside from the release date of the movie, and seems like Mondo would do rather than official studio.
As for chat, Jackman teased at the Q&A:
Actually, in this movie, how do we put it? Let's say, he discovers his Kryptonite.
And Mangold carefully added:
We're addressing that. There is a challenge he faces that poses a challenge to him and makes it harder for him… There's two aspects. One is what Hugh is alluding to, which is that some of the people Logan is up against might have found ways of getting to him than we've seen before.
The Wolverine takes Logan to Tokyo, the eternal warrior and outsider who falls for the mysterious Mariko and becomes embroiled in a brutal gang war. Mangold explained that's not all that's bothering the central event of the film:
The ideas of immortality reign very heavily in this story and the burden of immortality weighs heavily on Logan. For me that's such an interesting part of Logan's character that is nearly impossible to explore if you have a kind of league or team movie.
Based on the classic storyline by
Chris Claremont and
Frank Miller,
Christopher McQuarrie wrote the screenplay with
Mark Bomback and the supporting cast includes
Will Yun Lee as the Silver Samurai,
Svetlana Khodchenkova as Viper, with
Brian Tee, Hiroyuki Sanada, Brian Tee, Tao Okamoto and
Rila Fukushima.
