The first trailer for The Lincoln Lawyer, an upcoming drama film based on Michael Connelly's novel of the same name, has arrived.
Matthew McConaughey (How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days, Fool's Gold, Tropic Thunder) and Marisa Tomei (In the Bedroom, Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, The Wrestler) star. The supporting cast includes Ryan Phillippe, William H. Macy, John Leguizamo, Michael Pena, Trace Adkins, and Katherine Moennig.
Brad Furman (The Take) will direct from the adapted screenplay by John Romano (Night in Rodanthe, Intolerable Cruelty).
Mickey Haller (McConaughey) is a Los Angeles criminal defense attorney who operates out of the back of his Lincoln sedan. Haller has spent most of his career defending garden-variety criminals, until he lands the case of his career: defending Louis Roulet (Ryan Phillippe), a Beverly Hills playboy accused of rape and attempted murder. But the seemingly straightforward case suddenly develops into a deadly game of survival for Haller.
From Lionsgate and Lakeshore Entertainment, The Lincoln Lawyer will be in theaters on March 18, 2011.
