So,
Leighton Meester and
Jeremy Strong have joined the cast of
David Dobkin‘s upcoming drama
The Judge? Not bad at all, they will join previously announced
Robert Downey Jr.,
Robert Duvall,
Vincent D'Onofrio,
Billy Bob Thornton and
Vera Farmiga and that, my friends, is what we call – an awesome cast!
Dobkin will direct the whole thing from a script written by
Nick Schenk and
Bill Dubuque, and as we previously reported, the movie will revolve around:
…a big-city lawyer who returns to his childhood home where his estranged father, the town's judge, is suspected of murder. He sets out to discover the truth and along the way reconnects with the family he walked away from years before.
Robert Downey Jr. is on board to play the above mentioned lawyer, his father is
Robert Duvall, and
Vera Farmiga is set to play Downey's former girlfriend.
Now,
Leighton Meester jumps in to star as Farmiga's daughter, a character with whom Downey has a one-night stand and whose later revelations cause quite a bit of headaches for the man.
Jeremy Strong, on the other hand, is attached to star as Downey's youngest brother.
The Judge is a co-production between Team Downey and Big Kid Pictures, and, according to the latest reports, the movie starts shooting this June.
Stay tuned for more!
