Lionsgate has released five clips from the upcoming heist film “The Bank Job,” starring Jason Statham. They show a group of bank robbers attempting an easy score. As a result, they put themselves and lots of others in trouble.
The movie tells the true story of the 1971 Baker Street robbery, in which thieves tunneled into the vault of a Lloyds bank and looted safe deposit boxes and jewelry worth the equivalent of £5 million ($10 million) today. Nobody was ever arrested, none of the money recovered and the press had a gag order placed on them.
“The Bank Job” is directed by Roger Donaldson, the man behind such films as “Cocktail,” “Cadillac Man,” “Species,” “The Recruit” and many others. The new movie hits theaters on March 7th.
