Roadside Attractions have finally released the first trailer for
Stuart Blumberg‘s sex addiction dramedy
Thanks For Sharing, which marks the directorial debut of
The Kids Are All Right screenwriter.
A witty and amusing comedy reunites Blumberg with
Mark Ruffalo who plays an eco-friendly businessman five years sober (no sex, even with himself) after a period of excessive indulgence in sexual relations, who's trying to start a relationship with endorphine-addict Phoebe (
Gwyneth Paltrow) who has given up on dating other addicts after breaking up with an alcoholic.
Mike (
Tim Robbins) is married to his high school sweetheart, but becomes as addicted to his 12-step recovery program as he does to sex; Neil (
Josh Gad) hides a camera on his tennis shoe to secretly film up women's skirts – all while trying to convince his friends that he can live a life without sex.
The film also stars
Joely Richardson, Alecia Moore (aka
Pink) and
Patrick Fugit. They each deal with their addictions in different and hilarious ways.
Thanks for Sharing premiered at last fall's TIFF, but there wasn't much buzz about it. The R-rated dramedy opens in theaters on September 20th, 2013.
Thanks for Sharing might not scratch the itch too deeply, but it certainly goes beyond the surface when it comes to talking about sex. When it doesn't itch, it tickles, and tickles always provide a decent laugh.
