Forget about that
The Wettest County title guys, because
John Hillcoat's upcoming prohibition-era drama is now going to have a new one –
Lawless!
So, first, we learned that Hillcoat is going to adapt
Matt Bondurant‘s novel
The Wettest County in the World, then we learned that the title is going to be a little bit shorter, and now – it's definitely a short one.
And in case this new title sounds familiar to you – congratulations on your good memory.
Terrence Malick had the same title in mind for his new movie with
Christian Bale in the leading role.
But, it looks that Hillcoat's team asked for the name and that Malick gave it up, so let's repeat once again – The Wettest County is now Lawless.
And now, thanks to
EntertainmentWeekly here's our first official photo from the movie.
Now, some facts about Hillcoat's Lawless.
The movie stars
Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Guy Pearce and
Dane DeHaan.
In case you forgot, Matt Bondourant‘s novel centers on two brothers, played by LaBeouf and Hardy, who become bootleggers in the South during Prohibition.
Lawless opens on August 31st, 2012 but the movie will probably premiere at this year's
Venice Film Festival.
