Emmett/Furla Films have set
Olivier Megaton on a moderately budgeted action thriller, the newly announced
Taking Gotham, and no it's not a new Batman movie.
This movie, based on a true story, comes from a script by Blue Bloods producer
Thomas Kelly. The story centers on ‘a secret unit of the NYPD created in response to a string of brutal robberies in New York City. After a deadly sting operation, the elite unit is disavowed by the NYPD, forcing them to go deep underground in order to clear their names.'
Taken 2 director Megaton will, therefore, replace original director
Nicolai Fuglsig (Brass Monkey) who was set to direct the $60 million action thriller
back in September.
Megaton will start casting now for the production that will get underway next March.
Director of Columbiana and Transporter 3 finally has a story that could make for a really good movie.
Stay tuned for more updates.
