Melissa McCarthy is unstopabble! Straight from
Identity Thief, she jumps in another comedy drama titled
St. Vincent De Van Nuys, where she'll star next to previously announced
Bill Murray. To be honest, the latest reports say she's still
in talks to join the project which comes from writer/director
Ted Melfi, but who would say
no to an offer like that?
So, as you already know, Melfi will direct the whole thing from his own script which revolves around a war veteran, played by Murray, who has taken to such hobbies as drinking and gambling in retirement before befriending a 12-year-old neighbor.
Or, if you prefer the official synopsis:
When a twelve year old boy in need of a babysitter moves in next door to a misanthropic aging retiree whose life mainly consists of gambling, hookers, and drinking, the elder becomes an unlikely mentor to the boy.
As for
Melissa McCarthy, she is the choice to play the female lead, described as
the single mother who works two shifts at the hospital. Quite a different role for McCarthy, who will next be seen opposite
Sandra Bullock in
The Heat.
Shooting starts this July, and as usual – with every new update on
St. Vincent De Van Nuys we'll be back!
