However, the news of Mary Jane's appearance in
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 follows the idea that the new Spider-Man trilogy will take elements from the controversial Gwen Stacy storyline in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man No. 121' comic book.
As you probably know the role of perennial red-headed love interest of Pater Parker was previously played by Kirsten Dunst in the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man trilogy.
Furthermore, Electro, the supervillain who can control electricity, is rumored to be one of the two villains to join
Andrew Garfield and
Emma Stone in the
Marc Webb-directed sequel, as well.
The script will be credited to frequent tentpole writers
Alex Kurtzman and
Roberto Orci, as well as
Jeff Pinkner, based on a previous draft by
James Vanderbilt.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is due out in theaters on May 2nd, 2014.
Besides her ABC Family series ‘The Secret Life of the American Teenager,' Woodley is attached to star in Gregg Araki's indie drama White Bird and just wrapped James Ponsoldt's The Spectacular Now with Miles Teller.
