Danny Woodburn, best known for his role as Mickey Abbott on the beloved NBC comedy series ‘Seinfeld,' has signed on to star as Master
Splinter in director
Jonathan Liebesman's live-action/CG reboot
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Woodburn ‘s one of the few more notable dwarf actors in Hollywood, whose recent credits include Mirror, Mirror and recurring roles on Fox's Bones, but he also has a very recognizable voice, and not one that I would immediately think of for the wise rodent friend and Ninjutsu mentor to the heroes in a half-shell.
The upcoming
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles redo thus far have
all four of the turtles lined up with
Alan Ritchson as Raphael,
Pete Ploszek as Leonardo,
Jeremy Howard as Donatello, and
Noel Fisher as Michelangelo, along with
Megan Fox as April O'Neil and
Will Arnett in a role being kept under wraps.
Bearing in mind that Splinter is a giant rat, Woodburn could be performing his role via performance capture technology.
The Michael Bay-produced film is set for release on June 6th, 2014.
