CHUD reports that Liev Schreiber (“The Sum of all Fears,” “The Manchurian Candidate”) will play Victor Creed – aka. Sabretooth – in the Gavin Hood-directed “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”.
Schreiber involvement was previously thought to be that of a young Stryker, the villain played by Brian Cox in “X2: X-Men United” who was responsible for Wolverine’s creation.
Instead “Six Feet Under” and “Dexter” star Michael C. Hall is in talks for the role of Stryker, whilst Michelle Monaghan is being sought for Silver Fox.
“Wolverine” tells the story of Wolverine’s epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program.
Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe. The film opens next May.Schreiber, Hall Join ‘Wolverine’
