It looks like
Ryan Reynolds really loves comic book-based movies, since he already appeared as Marvel Comics' Deadpool in
X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and he's currently filming scenes as the title hero in
Green Lantern.
But, wait, that's not the end, because now it seems that he will be starring in the big screen-adaptation of
R.I.P.D, a graphic novel from independent publisher Dark Horse Comics! Yeah, yeah, he definitely loves this!
So,
R.I.P.D (
Rest In Peace Department) is next project, with quite interesting story. And Reynolds is going to play young cop who is murdered in the line of duty and agrees to join God's police force in return for a chance to catch his killer. That's interesting, right?
Producer Neal Moritz looks excited, saying that: “It's terrific based on the graphic novel. It's about two cops, one recently dead and a gunslinger who's been dead for hundreds of years who work on the Rest in Peace department – which is the police department of the dead. And they basically…well, it takes place on a normal day and it's about trying to keep the dead quiet.”
So, Moritz calls it kind of “buddy action comedy”, but unfortunately, at this moment there are no informations about possible star that will be the one opposite to Reynolds.
But we heard that this movie is hopefully going to film next January – right after Reynolds films
The Change-Up alongside
Jason Bateman.
It's nice to hear that this actor is so busy, because we're sure you enjoy his roles, and he's kind of perfect for this one, you must agree.
On the other hand, with name of Neil Moritz as producer, David Dobkin as director and Universal, we have no doubt this project could be good thing to watch.
So, get ready for another comic book adaptation, and stay tuned, we'll be back with new info about R.I.P.D, the “favorite Reynolds' project”, as Moritz reported. We can only hope that it will be our favourite movie, too!
