We already had a little chat about the upcoming adaptation of the hit novel Gone Girl, so I'm sure you remember that David Fincher is on board to direct, while Ben Affleck is already set to play the male lead in the whole thing. Now comes the word that lovely Rosamund Pike, (yep Helen from Jack Reacher) is set to play the wife of Affleck's character. Head inside to find more details…
So, according to the latest reports, Pike jumps in to play the female lead, aka a woman named Amy Dunne, who goes missing on her fifth wedding anniversary while her husband becomes the prime suspect.
As we mentioned before, the movie is an adaptation of Gillian Flynn‘s bestselling novel of the same name, described as follows:
On the day of their fifth wedding anniversary, Nick's wife Amy disappears. There are signs of struggle in the house and Nick quickly becomes the prime suspect. It doesn't help that Nick hasn't been completely honest with the police and, as Amy's case drags out for weeks, more and more vilifying evidence appears against him. Nick, however, maintains his innocence. As revelation after revelation unfolds, it becomes clear that the truth does not exist in the middle of Nick and Amy's points of view; in fact, the truth is far more dark, more twisted, and more creepy than you can imagine…
Let us also mention that beside Pike, Olivia Wilde, Charlize Theron, Natalie Portman and Emily Blunt had also been in the running for the role.
But now, (when they finally have their female lead) – Fincher and his team will start shooting Gone Girl in September for a 2014 release.
As usual – we'll keep an eye on it, make sure you stay tuned!
