So, you probably remember that
Ellen Page, Mia Wasikowska, Sarah Snook, Sophie Lowe, Lea Seydoux and
Katie Jarvis were all in the running for the leading role, Lisbeth Salander, together with (now official movie star) Rooney Mara.
Mara, who previously appeared in the comedy
Youth in Revolt, this year's
Nightmare on Elm Street remake and is also in the upcoming Fincher's
The Social Network, will portray “brilliant, dangerous and volatile computer hacker Lisbeth Salander,” according to Sony Pictures spokesman Steve Elzer, in a story that goes like this:
“Forty years ago, Harriet Vanger disappeared from a family gathering on the island owned and inhabited by the powerful Vanger clan.Her body was never found, yet her beloved uncle is convinced it was murder and that the killer is a member of his own tightly knit but dysfunctional family.
