Everyone knows lovers whose love is denied due to the feud between their two families, the Montagues and Capulets, so it's tough to be excited by a new adaptation unless its told in an original or interesting fashion.
Directed by Italian filmmaker
Carlo Carlei, the film's supporting cast includes
Paul Giamatti, Stellan Skarsgard, and Homeland's
Damian Lewis along with
Ed Westwick, Kodi Smit-McPhee (Let Me In) and
Natascha McElhone.
Romeo and Juliet is currently slated to hit theaters in the United Kingdom on July 26th, but a US distribution deal has yet to be made.
British actor Booth, a relatively new face is set to star in Darren Aronofsky's
Noah as well as Lana and
Andy Wachowski's
Jupiter Ascending next year.
