Anyway, the good thing is that a former wrestler comes on board to play an ancient vampire (and powerful bad-ass) named The Master. More details about the project – in the rest of this report.
The Strain is based on the novel series by del Toro and author Chuck Hogan, and revolves around the above mentioned The Master and his reign of terror as he seeks total control of Earth.
According to the latest reports, Mailler's character is described as an evil that has nested in secret and darkness, feasting on human suffering until now, emerging from the shadows to force a new world order.
Sounds spooky, but as usual – we have nothing to worry about. Why? Well, because The Master will have to fight against Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (the head of the Centers for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City) who, together with his team, is more than ready to stop an ancient evil of vampirism.
In case you forgot, Corey Stoll is already set to play Dr. Goodweather, while the rest of the cast also includes Mia Maestro, Sean Astin and Richard Samuel.
The Strain is being eyed for a 13-episode pickup by FX, so I guess we'll soon have more updates to share.
Stay tuned!
