Robert Downey Jr. is definitely a very busy man these days. I mean, it's not all about
The Avengers, we'll soon have a chance to watch him in
Iron Man 3, not to mention that it must be boring to wear that weird costume all the time.
Well, ok, this movie is set to open on May 3rd, 2013, but I guess that we're all interested to find out more details about the whole thing as soon as possible.
So, thank God someone invented the interviews, because we finally have something interesting to share with you…
As you already know,
Jon Favreau won't be back for the third installment of a franchise and writer and director this time is
Shane Black. It will be interesting to see where he'll take the whole thing, but Downey Jr. looks quite optimistic.
“Bringing in Shane Black to write and direct ‘Iron Man 3′ to me is basically the only transition from Favreau to a ‘next thing' that Favreau and the audience and Marvel and I could ever actually sign off on.”
He also added that: “The thing about Shane is that it will be anything but one of those moments, unless we come up with something that is so cheeky and character-driven and perfect that it has to be in the movie.”
So, we understand that it's too early to talk about the possible plot, but we also heard some previous rumors that Marvel was not happy with the direction of Iron Man 2 as well as that Iron Man 3 would feature Iron Man fighting “real world villains.” That actually means – less actioner?
Still, here's something that Downey Jr. revealed in an interview with
HeroComplex:
“We're not talking much about the script right now because Shane is off writing and we talked before that and when we are talking again the talking is going to be over pretty quick. It's kind of like we're fighting on the same side and at the same time we're circling each other, so it's all great. It should be great.”
We hope so.
It’s Shane Black, not Blake.
