At the latest San Diego Comic-Con, it was revealed that Robert Downey Jr. , best known for his iconic portrayal of Tony Stark, will be stepping into the villainous shoes of Doctor Doom in the highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday. This piece of casting news created quite a stir in the community which only grew because Downey Jr was able to keep his involvement a secret even from other Avengers.
On the Twitter, the actor Jeremy Renner who plays Hawkeye shared his joy about the fact of appearing in the MCU. Speaking to US Weekly, Renner said,
“The son of a bitch didn't say anything to me! We're good friends, right? There's the Avengers family chat. The original six. He said not a peep. ”
This is how revelation of such a decision was concealed even from those who were close friends with the actor.
As speculation swirls about the plot of Avengers: The fans also want to know the chances of seeing back the characters they enjoyed watching in Doomsday. Renner suggested that he might come back as Hawkeye but that is not confirmed yet. The Russo Brothers are back in the directors' chairs for the next Avengers films which will bring even more epic tale and memorable fights for the fans.
Avengers: Doomsday is a perfect start to a new series of the MCU. So eager is the Pope of his character that having Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, viewers shall see a performance big enough to redefine the powersom villain for a fresh generation. These are the words of Renner:
