Earlier, we ran a
trailer for Harry Brown starring
Michael Caine and today IGN has debuted an official red band trailer and a clip from the movie.
Caine in his seventies still looks cool and dangerous and plays the title character who decides to take violent action once his friend is murdered.
Described as a “modern urban western” the titular
Harry Brown (Caine) is an elderly widower and ex-marine who has lived to see his neighbourhood overrun by violent gangs, drugs and crime. When his best friend Leonard (
David Bradley) is brutally murdered and the gang leader responsible walks free, Harry finds himself snapping.
Soon, his desire for revenge leads to the unlikely vigilante facing up to the young thugs, with terrifying results.
The crime thriller directed by British filmmaker
Daniel Barber from the script written by
Gary Young also stars
Emily Mortimer, Liam Cunningham, Charlie Creed-Miles, Iain Glen, Sean Harris and
Ben Drew among other British actors.
Harry Brown, debuted at the Toronto Film Festival, will hit limited US theaters starting on April 30, 2010.
