Peter Jackson, the acclaimed director of the Lord of the Rings and the hobbit films and series, has been rather dormant in the fields of film directing since 2014. Nevertheless, it appears that he is not quite ready to leave feature filmmaking entirely behind just yet. More recently, Andy Serkis, who reprised his characterization of Capt. Haddock in the follow-up to the 2011 Steven Spielberg-James Cameron motion capture narrative adaptation, “The Adventures of Tintin,” verified that Jackson remains actively involved in the sequel.
The sequel, which is based on two source materials, “The Adventures of Tintin: Return to Mystery Museum,” which includes “Prisoners of the Sun” and “The Seven Crystal Balls and The Temple of the Sun,” has been in the works for years. Jackson who is familar with the animation process especially from his Lord of the Rings trilogy has promised to deliver a motion picture that will capture the gestures and expressions of the celebrated characters.

The second Tintin film that was produced was more popular in France but failed to impress the audiences in the United States. Nevertheless, the film was warmly welcomed by the critics and demonstrated that the further continuation of this picture could be successful. Acquiring Jackson's assistance increases the chances of a fresher and more captivating follow up that fans old and new to the franchise will enjoy.
As of now, there is no release date that has been given by the studios, but based on a normal animation feature film these can be expected to be released within the next three years. Jackson has a passion for making thrilling movies with elaborate and captivating action scenes, and fans of the first “Tintin” movie can definitely look forward to the sequel.
