Check out the very first (official) images from
Diablo Cody‘s upcoming
Paradise (previously titled
Lamb of God). In case you're not so familiar with Cody's directorial debut, we will first inform you that the movie revolves around a young conservative woman who, after surviving a plane crash, suffers a crisis of faith. More details (and pics) – as usual, in the rest of this report…

So, written and directed by Oscar-winning (read:
Juno) writer Cody, this comedy stars
Julianne Hough as a small-town religious girl named Lamb who, after nearly dying in an accident, gets a big insurance check and decides to start living life to the fullest.

She sets out to experience the thrills of Sin City, where she learns to navigate the scene. Yep, in other words – she decides to go to Las Vegas to live the life of a sinner, and on her journey finds her way back to her faith.

I can't say I'm totally interested in this story, but at least Cody sounds excited about the whole thing:
When people see that movie, they're going to realize that it's extremely personal and it's extremely sweet and very feminine, in a strange kind of traditional, yet off-beat way. I just felt this was a story I had to tell with my whole self and I couldn't outsource any of it to someone else.

The rest of
Paradise cast doesn't look bad at all, and includes
Russell Brand,
Octavia Spencer,
Holly Hunter and
Nick Offerman.
