Legendary Pictures has bought the sci-fi actioner
Pacific Rim from
Clash of the Titans writer
Travis Beacham, based on the screenwriter's 25-page treatment.
So, as you already guess, they are looking at making Pacific Rim into a major summer tentpole film, and Beacham name involved in the whole project could be a good guarantee , especially after Clash Of The Titans $475 Million big success!
At this moment we know that Pacific Rim is “set in a future in which malevolent creatures threaten the earth, the planet must band together and use highly advanced technology to eradicate the growing menace.”
No detailed information about this one, but one thing is for sure. Travis Beacham is definitely a busy, busy man!
He will be in charge for Fox's
20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, that we already wrote about, with
Tumur Bekmambetov set to direct. Then, there's a Disney remake of the 1979 movie
The Black Hole with Joseph Kosinski set to direct. Nice job, indeed!
So, if you're looking for some alien-invasion story, get ready. Like we said, guys from Legendary Pictures are looking at making Pacific Rim into a major summer tentpole film, and that's not the end of their plans!
They've got
Sam Raimi's
World of Warcraft on the horizon, as well as potential sci-fi epics in a
Godzilla reboot and the movie
Mass Effect, based on the popular game. Stay tuned!
Anyone know where I could get the script? I alredy look in some movie scipt places
