Oz: The Great and Powerful opens this March, and as you already had a chance to see –
Sam Raimi‘s fantastical adventure definitely looks promising. The only thing we hate about this project so far is that there's still some veil of mystery when it comes to the character details, but… it looks that we have something new after all! Let's start with
Rachel Weisz and her
Evanora witch, shall we?
According to the lovely actress, who stars as the Wicked Witch of the East aka Evanora, her character thrives on the misery-making. Or, as she explained in an interview with
The Sun:
She enjoys it, like the meaner she is the more pleasure she gets. My character is more than mean, she's really evil. She is a pathological liar, she's a narcissist, an egomaniac and a megalomaniac. She's really, really a bad person and she revels in being bad.
Still, it looks that Weisz likes that evil lady:
It was a fun idea to be playing someone who is really, really bad. I can't think of any roles that I've had like that before.

Anyway, I will once again remind you that
Oz: The Great and Powerful also stars
James Franco,
Mila Kunis,
Michelle Williams,
Zach Braff,
Joey King and
Bruce Campbell, and is set to open on March 8th, 2013.
The movie, written by
Mitchell Kapner and
David Lindsay-Abaire, and directed by
Sam Raimi, centers on a small-time circus magician Oscar Diggs, who ends up becoming the Wizard of Oz. It is set before the novel and the 1939 film
The Wizard of Oz.
We'll keep an eye on this project, make sure you stay tuned for more updates!
