Director
Darren Aronofsky took to
Twitter this morning to reveal that he has cast the legend
Nick Nolte as Samyaza, who in the Book of Enoch is the leader of a group of angels called Watchers.
The role of one of the supernatural creatures was filled by ‘
Breaking Bad‘ co-star
Mark Margolis and since the film is scheduled to hit theaters in a couple of months, Nolte will probably be voicing the character, and not actually playing him.
Aronofsky also tweeted an image of the actor (below) so you can see some sort of rock creature behind Nolte, which might be how Samyaza appears in this biblical epic.
Aronofsky's Biblical drama
Noah also stars
Russell Crowe as the title character, ‘a man chosen by God for a great task before an apocalyptic flood destroys the world,' along with
Emma Watson, Jennifer Connelly, Logan Lerman, Ray Winstone, Douglas Booth, Kevin Durand, Martin Csokas, and
Anthony Hopkins.
The film opens March 28th, 2014.
