Thank God for this news! Director
Tom Hooper is currently busy with that movie musical
Les Miserables that we already wrote so much about but he's still not crazy enough to say
yes to Les Miserables 3D.
Yeah, it's true, Hooper's upcoming big budget musical adaptation of the hit stage musical will not be in 3D!
In an interview with BBC, Hooper revealed:
“I slightly worry with 3D that some people will physically struggle with it. If you have a certain type of eyesight it can be more demanding than watching a normal movie. With a two-and-a-half hour film, I didn't want to make something that anyone might think ‘That's not for me, because I don't like the medium'.”
So, at this moment we know that the script is based on Victor Hugo's novel and the stage musical.
Then we know
Hugh Jackman is set to star as the film's protagonist Jean Valjean while
Russell Crowe is set to play Javert,
Anne Hathaway is Fantine and
Eddie Redmayne is Marius.
As for the rest of the cast we already have some rumors that include
Taylor Swift, Scarlett Johansson, Lea Michele and
Evan Rachel Wood for the role of Eponine.
Still, Hooper also added that the casting of Eponine and Cosette would be announced soon, so I guess we should all wait for the official confirmation now.
In the meantime let us know what you think about Hooper's decision, and stay tuned!
