Nick Nolte has been nominated for three Academy Awards and has been married and divorced three times too.
Hollywood leading man built a solid career playing a wide range of roles and it's said that Nolte, a native of Nebraska, is currently circling the lead role in Annapurna Pictures' drama
Bitterroot.
Bitterroot, a Black List script by
Michael Gilio, set up and being fully financed at Annapurna Pictures, ‘revolves around an aging Montana rancher who is scammed out of his life savings. Unable to locate the swindler, the rancher packs up his guns and rides his horse into Bitterroot to get his money back.'
Gore Verbinski and
Jonathan Krauss will produce the film which marks music video director
Chris Milk‘s feature film debut; the film has long been a passion project for Verbinski, but preoccupied with The Lone Ranger he decided to produce instead.
Nolte, last nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Warrior, can next be seen in Ruben Fleischer's Gangster Squad followed by Robert Redford's The Company You Keep.
Check out a scene from Warrior where Nolte has a bottle in his hand; it's probably one of the most emotionally gut-wrenching moments in any movie.
