Directed by Reitman, known for films like Juno and Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and co-scripted with Gil Kenan, the plot of Saturday Night: is an exemplary blend of comedy and suspense. It is not only a revisit for the lovers of Saturday Night Live but a general insight on five friends in their 20s who changed the face of television and comedy. The photographers do a good job of portraying the young comedians and writers who would soon become cultural icons.
Action builds on the clock timeframe and adds a comedic twist to effectively recreate the unorganized yet passionate atmosphere of the legendary Saturday Night. Whether you are a fan of the SNL show itself or you simply enjoy good ensemble comedies, this film should turn out to be one of the best comedies in the year 2024.
