A follow-up to the movie adaptation of the comic book ‘Red' (the term for CIA pensioners considered ‘Retired, Extremely Dangerous') will see a reteaming of wise-cracking geriatric spies and now here is a new image from
Red 2 courtesy of
Entertainment Weekly.
The behind-the-scenes images were leaked two months ago, on set in Paris (below) showing
Bruce Willis and
Catherine Zeta-Jones. Now, we get the first official image of
Mary-Louise Parker, Willis and
John Malcovich in director
Dean Parisot's (Galaxy Quest) sequel to Summit's hit action movie Red.
Plot details are currently slim on the sequel with
Anthony Hopkins reportedly playing the main villain. I don't think
Morgan Freeman's character named Joe really died in the first movie, but there will be a reason for Freeman's absence.
Also starring
Helen Mirren, Byung-Hun Lee, Karl Urban, Neal McDonough and
David Thewlis, with a screenplay from
Erich and
Jon Hoeber, who wrote the script for the original, Red 2 hits theaters on July 19th, 2013.
