Rachel Weisz was once going to star as the First Lady with then-husband
Darren Aronofsky at the helm, but
Noah Oppenheim‘s
Jackie may have found a second life with none other than
Natalie Portman.
So, Aronofsky was initially involved in the project, but he backed out when his relationship with Weisz ended. A few years ago it attracted the interest of
Steven Spielberg, as well, but he reportedly will only produce it for a TV movie for HBO.
Not to mention that Aronofsky directed Portman to a Best Actress Oscar with Black Swan so it's possible that he could come back to the project after finishing Noah.
Portman is being courted by Fox Searchlight to take play Jackie in the film chronicling her life in the immediate aftermath of the assassination of her husband JFK.
Natalie Hershlag, better known by her stage name Natalie Portman, certainly makes this historical period piece a more interesting and unexpected sort.
Portman is next set to star opposite Michael Fassbender in her first starring role since 2010s Black Swan, the incredibly promising western Jane Got a Gun, from We Need to Talk About Kevin director Lynne Ramsay.
Stay tuned.
