Unbelievable! But still, that's
Mickey Rourke! All of the sudden, he's no longer attached to the upcoming
The Expendables sequel, and he's attached to star in
Martin McDonagh's (also) upcoming project entitled
Seven Psychopaths.
Yeah, we already talked about that one, but this is quite a surprise. Never mind, after all, he will join some great cast which already includes
Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell and
Christopher Walken.
As you already know, Seven Psychipaths centers on Marty (Farrell) a screenwriter struggling for inspiration for his script, Seven Psychopaths, gets unwittingly drawn into the dangerous dog kidnapping schemes of his oddball friends Billy (Rockwell) and Hans (Walken).
And once the beloved Shih Tzu of the psychopathic gangster Charlie goes missing, Marty finds he's going to get all the inspiration he needs, as long as he can live to tell the tale…
Now, it's not hard to guess that Rourke comes on board to play that above mentioned psychotic gangster.
According to
Deadline, Rourke did the first film as a favor to
Sylvester Stallone, but it doesn't sound like there was a big financial incentive to return for a reprise on the surprise hit.
I knew it was Stallone's fault!
