An American Family – Part 1
Michael Sucsy Up for Beach Boys Musical
Susannah Grant received an Oscar nomination in 2001 for her Erin Brockovich script. Grant has lately adapted for the big screen Steve Lopez's novel The Soloist, based on a true story of Nathaniel Ayers, a musician who develops schizophrenia and becomes homeless. Well, she is still in a music mode as she was scripted untitled musical featuring the music of The Beach Boys.
But it was first announced in 2010 that Fox 2000 is developing such a project. The latest breaking news refers to The Vow helmer Michael Sucsy who responded to the material and is in negotiations to direct the project that will tell still undisclosed fictional tale set to the band's tunes, which apparently surfs of a summer in the 1960s.
John Stamos, who played with the band, along with Craig Zadan, Neil Meron, the team behind successful musicals, Chicago and Hairspray will produce.
The studio hopes Sucsy will be able to bring his magic box office as he's having grossed over $100 million with his feature film debut, The Vow, ever since.
Sucsy's currently developing a modern-day take on ‘Romeo and Juliet' story named after Rosaline, Juliet's cousin and Romeo's first love.
