Christian Bale, long mentioned as the lead in
Darren Aronofsky's project
Noah has passed on the role due to scheduling issues with the two
Terrence Malick movies –
Lawless and
Knight of Cups.
But it looks like great
Michael Fassbender will star in Aronofsky's Biblical epic!
Fassbender has discussed the project with the director but unfortunately we can't say that this thing is official. One thing is for sure – this can not be a bad choice…on the contrary.
The director has already described Noah more as a great fable than a religious story:
“I don't think it's a very religious story. I think it's a great fable that's part of so many different religions and spiritual practices. I just think it's a great story that's never been on film.”
Aronofsky will direct from a screenplay he wrote with
Ari Handel.
Production is scheduled to start next spring.
