Here's a completely fresh set image from the upcoming
Behind the Candelabra movie, which, in case you don't recognize those guys, stars
Matt Damon and
Michael Douglas in the leading roles.
The movie, or if you prefer – HBO biopic about Liberace, comes from director
Steven Soderbergh and also stars
Rob Lowe, Dan Aykroyd and
Cheyenne Jackson.
But this time it's all about Damon and Douglas, who never looked this funny. I mean, 70's look is definitely not for every single star out there (although it's quite popular these days in Hollywood).
Michael Douglas stars as the ultimate performer while Matt Damon is his youthful lover Scott Thorson, and like that's not enough for our ears and eyes – we had to see these weird costumes as well…
Anyway, the movie will center on Liberace and Thorson who first met in 1976 when the pianist was 56 and Thorson was just 17. Thorson soon became his companion, assistant and driver, and even despite Liberace's public denials about his homosexuality, the two became lovers.
Soderbergh directs the whole thing from a screenplay by
Richard LaGravanese, who adapted Thorson's memoir titled
Behind the Candelabra: My Life With Liberace.
The movie is set to debut on HBO in 2013.
What do you think about it so far?
