Wonder Woman is making her big television comeback courtesy of
Ally McBeal creator
David E. Kelley – and it seems she could be getting a helping hand from film director
McG to boot.
TV channel NBC recently purchased Kelley's pilot script and concept, and are looking around for a director qualified enough to bring Kelley's vision to life on-screen.
Their current favourite is director McG, who they want to helm the show's pivotal pilot episode – i.e. the one that establishes the identity of the show, and will hopefully get an entire season picked up.
Let's put some light on McG biotic profile.
Joseph McGinty Nichol (1968), a.k.a. McG, is an American director and producer of film and television, plus a former record producer. His first film,
Charlie's Angels, had the highest-grossing opening weekend for a directorial debut at the time. He has ever since launched three other films, including
Terminator Salvation, and has executive produced TV programs, such as
The O.C.,
Supernatural, the action-packed pilot for
Chuck, and
Fastlane, both projects developed and produced by McG's WBTV-based company, founded in 2001.

Wonder Woman
The original live-action Wonder Woman series starred
Lynda Carter and ran from 1975 to 1979 on ABC and CBS.
Minka Kelly (The Roommate, Friday Night Lights) has previously pointed out that she was in talks to star in the series. Now actress
Lake Bell (
No Strings Attached) has revealed to E! Online that she would want nothing more than to play Wonder Woman in the new show.
I'll be honest, I think I'd make a great Wonder Woman. So if anyone out there is listening…”
