Ok, we're here to talk about HBO's new TV project, but trust me, this definitely deserves your full attention!
True Detective is the upcoming high-concept cop drama written by
Nic Pizzolatto that will center on two detectives whose lives become entangled while searching for a serial killer in Louisiana.
And now – the best part of the story!
Matthew McConaughey and
Woody Harrelson are already set to star as those two detectives!
The first season of True Detective includes eight episodes, and at this moment we know that
Cary Fukunaga is on board to direct all of them.
McConaughey will star as detective Rust Cohle, while Harrelson is set to star as detective Martin Hart. They are drawn into the search for a serial killer in Louisana: the investigation stretches back to the bizarre murder, which takes place in 1995, and also takes place in 2012, when the case has been reopened.
The good thing is that production on True Detective is set to start right away, and if the show is successful, then we'll soon have a chance to watch some fresh characters and a fresh story. That means – the similar structure, but with a new story and a new cast.
